While the show is still comical and full of excitement, I miss the focus it used to have on JD.

Babysitting can seem like the worst task my mother can give me because, of course, it prevent me from going out and enjoying myself. But I would do anything for my little bundle of joy because her laughter always cheers me up.

Jarely is one of the few people I know I will miss when I go away to college in nine months. I know it is going to be hard to enjoy myself when I won’t see her for a long time - even weeks at a time. Even though I will be away from her, I know it’s something I need to do for myself. I need my liberty from my parents – especially my dad. ☺

What really grinds my gear are girls who show too much of their bodies all around school even though there’s a dress code against such overexposure. I mean, c’mon! Skirts nowadays aren’t really skirts – they are more like a piece of tiny cloth wrap around a girl’s booty. Also, the shirts girls wear shouldn’t even be called shirts – they are more like half shirts.

Most girls walk around thinking that every single guy is going to like them because they look so hot with their tiny skirts. I understand where they are coming from because they want to catch a guy’s attention. However, sometimes guys can be cruel and make fun of a girl because she shows too much all the time. They might think that the girl is easy and that she isn’t worth their time.

I think it’s funny how girls don’t want perverted old men to look at them when they are hardly even wearing any clothes. If they don’t want this happening, they should just watch what they wear. I’m not saying that girls should dress up as nuns but just cover up a little more.

After all, girls shouldn’t have to expose their body like that in order to get guys to like them. What matters is what’s inside, not outside. And looks don’t last forever. Everyone should know that.

As a resident of the West Side, it’s hard not to notice the police cameras at numerous corners. There are also other neighborhoods in which cameras are located. However, the question is: Do these cameras make people feel safer? Some people believe that they do while others believe they don’t. One thing is for sure – they haven’t made much of a difference when it comes to reducing crime in my community.

At first there was much controversy about whether or not the cameras should stay or go. There are some people who believe the cameras have made the community safer. They believe the cameras let police watch whenever there’s a shooting or gang related activity. I disagree because most of the time police say that the suspect for the crime committed around the area is unknown.

Most people believe that the cameras don’t play a major role in safety because people are still getting shot all around the neighborhood, especially teenage boys. These cameras also don’t keep our teens from hanging out on the street corners all the time. Every time I walk home from school, I pass through a corner where a camera is located. In this corner, teenage boys are always hanging out looking for trouble and harassing girls. Although there’s a camera at that corner, the police never seem to kick them out.

Also, these cameras are costly. During a recession, the government should spend its money on something more helpful. I wonder if somebody is looking at all the cameras everyday. How can they know when a suspicious activity is occurring?

I believe that these cameras are just put up to make the people living in the community feel safe, but they don’t actually do anything to make the community safer. If the city wanted to actually help out the community, they would organize more programs like CAPS (Chicago Alternative Policing Strategy) to get more teenagers off the streets.

When I started my senior year of high school, everybody told me it would be the easiest year. They were wrong. Senior year is full of stress. Some of this stress comes from the college application process which can drain you mentally due to the amount of questions they ask you. These applications also have deadlines which makes it harder to get things done on time because you want to submit as many applications as possible before the deadlines. Due to that, you’re in a hurry and in the end you worry that you’ve messed up.

Also, stress comes from parents who want you to do the best you can. Some pressure their kids to over work themselves. Though not on purpose, my parents tend to do this sometimes because they want what’s best. Finding a job is complicated. Even more so with the bad economy. This adds to the stress because you know that you need a job in order to save up money for college.

All the stress from senior year is relieved by hanging out with your boyfriend and friends after a long day in school. After all, senior year is precious and the memories will last a life time. So have fun and don’t let all the stress get to you!
