The Radio is soooooo Wrong!!!!!!

speakerI like to listen to all different types of music.  Country, Hip Hop, R&B, Jazz, and House.  But lately, I’ve been realizing that there is a lot of profanity and strong feelings in music.  Sometimes, I think rappers and singers are making these kinds of songs just to get the money and 15 minutes of fame.  I understand how they want to express their feelings but do they have to use the “B”word and talk about shaking your booty?

It’s also kind of weird that some rappers give themselves such strange nicknames – Waka Flaka and Gucci Mane.  Aren’t those names sort of strange?!  Names like Drake and Taylor Swift are okay.  Their music is okay, too.  I used to like the strange rappers music, but now that I can better understand what they are saying…I DON’T THINK SO!

Oh, and what about their videos?  That’s a whole other story!!!!! :)

Davia, I know where you’re coming from! Its a little awkward when your listening to the radio and you hear an innappropriate word!

Davia I think you are right…the more explict the lyrics the more attention is brought to the song and it’s played on the radio. Songs on the radio have so much profanity and it’s either beeped out or the artists has to make a “radio edit” or “clean version” to get air play.

davia I agree with you on the unnecessary profanity that is now played and sold as music. Radio should take into account that young persons are listening and very impressionable. i applaud your insight and I believe that you will be the next Oprah.
