Your Hair is Not a Laboratory

We guys spend about half our day playing videogames and the other half eating and sleeping. Girls seem toy sleep some, talk on the phone some and paint their nails some. But what seems to take up most of their time is their hair. From up-dos to corn rows and back to the traditional bun, there are endless hair styles that girls experiment with day in and day out. It seems like a waste of time and money.
Before a dance, girls go out and get their hair done. It’s great and the hairstyles can look awesome. They can really dress up your attire. But sometimes, it can also ruin your look. When you begin adding things you find around your house, that’s a sign you’re going to far. Leave the pencils, chopsticks and notebooks in the drawer. Okay, so I’m exaggerating. Something a little extra is nice. But if you’re in a chair for more than 2 hours getting your hair fixed, stop!
Then there are hair extensions. Don’t do it! I’m sure your hair looks fine the way it is. Adding onto it only makes your natural hair look fake. You begin to look plastic, like a Barbie doll. I understand in some cases you may need to get hair extensions, but while you are in high school and just want to do it, think again. Hair is probably in its healthiest state for teenage girls so why hurt the chances of beautiful hair in the future?
Hair dying seems equally as bad. In many cases, natural colors or natural highlights can turn out very nice, but your head shouldn’t be a rainbow. I guarantee you won’t find a pot of gold at the end of that rainbow. If you could, I would be all for dying your hair all those colors! But in all seriousness, there is no point in dying your hair colors like blue, green, and red because it just looks funny. Actually, that goes for crazy light blond and jet black, too. Unless it’s natural, don’t do it. You are only hurting yourself and your reputation with everyone at school.
Most guys don’t like when a girl’s hair is changing colors as often as a stoplight. Plus, some things may be permanent. While hair styles can be changed, dying your hair and getting extensions could be tough and really expensive to fix. I’m not saying don’t ever change your hair, but when you do it, make sure you think it through and talk to all those who care about you.
